Many people first open Meowdoku simply because the cats look so adorable—myself included. I initially intended to play for just a few minutes to see how the mechanics worked. However, after a few levels, I realized this wasn't the kind of game you could beat by guessing randomly.
As you progress, every move requires careful thought. Placing just one cat incorrectly can force you to restart the entire puzzle.
The goal of Meowdoku is to find the correct spot for each cat on the board.
Each region contains only one cat.
Each row and column is also allowed to have only one cat.
Additionally, no two cats can stand next to each other, including diagonally. This is the rule that beginners most often overlook.
It sounds simple, but when these conditions combine, finding the solution becomes significantly more challenging.
If playing on a computer, simply use your mouse to select the desired cell.
You can clear or change your selection at any time.
On mobile, everything is done via touchscreen, making it very convenient.
Instead of looking at the whole board, start with a region that has fewer cells.
Once you identify a cat's position, the corresponding rows and columns will eliminate other possibilities.
Don't hesitate to mark cells that cannot be used. This habit makes visualizing the board much easier, especially in difficult levels.
If you get stuck for too long, switch to a different area and come back later. I’ve found the solution that way more than once.
In my opinion, the appeal of Meowdoku lies in the satisfaction of figuring out the solution yourself.
The game doesn't offer excessive hints, nor does it demand lightning-fast reflexes; every outcome relies on your powers of observation and deduction.
Completing a level brings a sense of satisfaction, knowing the solution was the result of your own independent thinking.
Meowdoku is a great fit for those who enjoy slow-paced puzzle games. The rules are straightforward yet offer plenty of engaging challenges. If you are looking for a game that helps you relax while sharpening your reasoning skills, Meowdoku is well worth checking out in your spare time.
