PokéSurvivor – Survive the Pokémon Horde

PokéSurvivor is a free browser survival roguelite developed by jpter78 and released in October 2026. Think Vampire Survivors, but your fighter is a Pokémon. You move, attacks fire automatically, and wild Pokémon keep closing in.

The game has 966 playable Pokémon across nine regions, plus shiny hunting, legendary encounters, upgrades, and online co-op for up to four players. No download is required.

How a Run Actually Feels

Pick a Pokémon and enter the map. Your first few minutes feel easy. Then the screen gets crowded fast.

Defeated enemies drop experience. Level up, choose new moves or improve your current build, and keep moving. I found that chasing every XP drop is a quick way to get surrounded. Circle the horde first, then collect items when a safe gap opens.

Type matchups and weather also matter. Rain, sun, sand, and snow can change how useful certain attacks feel, so one build will not always work equally well.

Controls

  • Move: WASD, Arrow Keys, or touch controls.
  • Switch Moves: Q/E or number keys 1–4.
  • Select: Click or tap a move icon.
  • Pause: Press Esc or tap Pause.

Why PokéSurvivor Is Fun?

  • Roster: Try 966 Pokémon. I’d start with a favorite, then switch things up.
  • Shinies: Finding one mid-run is always a nice surprise.
  • Builds: Mix moves that work together. Raw damage isn’t everything.
  • Legendaries: Enter rifts when you’re ready for a tougher fight.
  • Co-op: Bring up to three friends and face the swarm together.
  • Progression: Missions, medals, and rankings give you more to chase.

What I Learned After Playing

Space is more valuable than XP. Do not run into a packed group just for one experience pickup.

Keep a clear escape route, watch attack indicators, and deal with enemies that heal or protect others early.

I would also test several Pokémon before settling on a favorite.

Different partners change your positioning and upgrade choices enough to make a new run feel genuinely different.
