Rally Racer Dirt puts you behind the wheel of a rally car on rough dirt roads and fast asphalt tracks. The fun comes from finding the right balance between speed and control. Push too hard, and you'll slide wide into a barrier. Brake too much and you lose the momentum needed for a quick run. The better you read each corner, the smoother your driving becomes.
Get a Feel for the Road
Rally Racer Dirt is not just about keeping your foot down. Dirt sections can make the car feel looser, while sharp bends demand better timing with the brake and handbrake. On your first few runs, it is easy to enter a corner too quickly and spend the next few seconds fighting the car.
The trick is to prepare before the turn. Slow down early, point the car toward the exit, then get back on the throttle once the vehicle starts to straighten. A controlled drift is usually faster than a wild slide that sends you off the track.
There are 13 rally cars to unlock and develop, with tuning and upgrades giving you more ways to improve your setup. The game also includes five tracks, 60 challenges, and a Survival mode where reaching checkpoints matters more than simply chasing the fastest lap.
Controls
The controls are straightforward:
- W / Up Arrow – Accelerate
- S / Down Arrow – Brake or reverse
- A / Left Arrow – Turn left
- D / Right Arrow – Turn right
- Space / Q – Handbrake
- C – Change camera
You don't need complicated combinations. Most of your attention should stay on the road, especially when a series of corners comes one after another.
Tune Your Rally Car
Upgrades become more useful once you start noticing where your car is struggling. If you keep losing control on bends, work on a setup that feels easier to handle rather than simply chasing maximum speed.
Challenge mode gives you 60 objectives to work through, while Survival mode changes the pace completely. You need to stay composed, reach checkpoints, and avoid wasting time on unnecessary crashes. Once the basic handling feels comfortable, real-time multiplayer gives you another reason to sharpen your drifting.
A useful habit is to learn the track before trying to set a perfect run. Remember where the tight corners are, brake a little earlier than expected, and save the handbrake for turns that actually need it. Rally racing becomes much easier when you stop treating every corner like a race against the clock.
