I initially downloaded Drift Frenzy just because I saw pictures of the car drifting beautifully. I thought it would be similar to many other drift games. But after a few levels, the driving feel was better than I expected, especially when the car starts cornering at high speed.
The game isn't too heavy on upgrades or missions. It's mainly about driving, drifting, and trying to keep the car on the road for as long as possible. Some corners look simple, but if you enter them a little too quickly, the car will spin sideways.
What I liked most was the feeling of the car being slightly thrown when you pulled the handbrake. If you time it right, the car glides through the corner quite smoothly. But a slight misstep and you're likely to crash straight into the edge of the road.
There were some levels I replayed repeatedly just to get a better drift than the last time. The game isn't too frustrating, but it's still challenging enough to make you want to keep playing.
Drift Frenzy's controls are quite familiar:
The game is easy to get used to, but to drive smoothly, you'll still need to play a few games to get used to the feel of the car.
Drift Frenzy doesn't use hyper-realistic graphics. The tracks and cars are quite clean, focusing more on speed and movement during drifting.
I find this more suitable, because the game feels light and not visually overwhelming. The long skid marks look good.
This game has a style where the more you play, the more you want to improve. Sometimes you're about to take a break but want to do another lap to hold the drift combo longer or take a better corner.
Because each race is fast-paced, playing continuously won't tire you out. This type of game is suitable for short bursts of entertainment, but it's easy to end up playing longer than expected.
Drift Frenzy is a simple, easy-to-play drift game, but it's not too easy if you want to master the corners. The fast speed, familiar controls, and stable drift feel are what keep the game engaging after many levels.
